Sterilized whole oats and a coco coir, vermiculite, and gypsum (CVG) substrate, sealed together in one 5 lb bag. Inoculate through the self-healing port, let the grain colonize, mix it into the substrate, and fruit in the same bag. No transfers, no tubs.

What's in the bag

• 1.75 lb sterilized whole oats (colonization)

• 3.25 lb CVG substrate: coco coir, vermiculite, gypsum (fruiting)

• 5-micron filter patch for gas exchange

• Self-healing injection port

How it works

1. When it arrives, set the bag on a shelf for 24 hours and look it over.

2. Inoculate through the port with your liquid culture.

3. Keep it at room temperature (68 to 75 °F / 20 to 24 °C), out of direct light. No heat mats; ambient warmth is enough.

4. Once the grain is fully colonized, break it up and mix it evenly into the substrate inside the bag.

5. Let it fruit in the bag. I run two flushes, then start a fresh bag. A new bag gets you to a big first flush faster than nursing a tired one.

Storage

Unopened, at 68 to 75 °F and out of direct light, the bag stays hydrated and ready to use for at least 3 months.
